Bears rout Vidalia 42-12, travel to Tattnall County Nov. 4

The Pierce County Bear football team traveled to face the Vidalia Indians October 28, winning 42-12. The Bears are now 8-1 on the season and 4-1 in Region 3-AA. The Bears will travel to face the Tattnall County Battle Creek Warriors Friday, November 4. The game is set to start at 7:30 p.m. and will determine who will be the second seed during the AA state playoffs for Region 3-AA.

The match-up with Tattnall County will be the 21 regular season contest dating back to November 8, 1996 with the Indians holding a 14-6 advantage. The Bears won the last 11 match-ups including 35-0 win in Bearville on October 29, 2021.

Tattnall County is currently 5-4 overall and 3-2 in Region 3-AA. The Battle Creek Warriors defeated Claxton 48-6 on August 19, lost to Long County 22-9 on August 26, won against Hephzibah 30-14 on September 9, lost to Toombs County 31-29 on September 23, defeated Windsor Forest 35-0 on September 28, defeated Vidalia 13-7 on October 7, defeated Brantley County 35-13 on October 21 and lost to Appling County 28-14 on October 28.

Scoring Recap

The Bears JaQuez White returned the opening kickoff of the game 60-yards for a score. Jonah Allen added the extra point to make the score 7-0 with 11:48 remaining in the first quarter.

DJ Bell connected on a 32-yard pass to Carson Sloan for the next score. Allen converted the extra point to make the score 14-0 at the 11:55 mark in the second quarter.

Vidalia answered with a 25-yard run. The extra point attempt was no good making the score 14-6 with 8:23 left in the second quarter.

Jimarion Guyton socred on a four-yard run to increase the Bears lead to 21-6, following the extra point by Allen.

Bell completed a 13-yard to Sloan for the next score. Allen added the extra point making the score 28-6 at halftime.

The Indians scored on a one-yard score with 10:43 left in the third quarter. The two-point attempt was intercepted by Guyton making the score 28-12.

Guyton added another score, this one a 60-yard run. Allen added the extra point increasing the lead to 35-12 at the 9:11 mark in the third quarter.

White scored on a 40-yard pass from Bell. Allen converted the extra point to make the final score 42-12.
