Pastor Jimmy Thrift of Youmans Chapel Baptist Church of Blackshear conducted the opening invocation at the regular county commission meeting October 15. Pastor Thrift was presented with a certificate of appreciation by second district commissioner Graham Raley. Thrift’s invocation expressed thanks for strength and how the community has come together in the wake of trials like the recent Hurricane Helene.
