There was much “JOY” during the September fellowship of JOY Group of Blackshear First Baptist Church. Birthday honorees pictured (front row) are Bill Coon, Frank Tanner, Margaret Lee, Janet Taylor, Jean Bowen, Lou Ann Carter and Mary Callahan, and (back row) John Mooney, Judy Shearn, pastor the Rev. Dr. Justin Gambrell, Mary Hill and Bill Higginson. Besides a delicious chicken casserole lunch, everyone learned how to use apps, led by the Rev. Will Emery, associate pastor, administration and discipleship. He was assisted by other staff members. Brenda Howard won the door prize, a pumpkin arrangement made by Rita McNeal. Ann Cason, coordinator for the Workers for Christ Sunday School class, was thanked along with her dedicated workers for the luncheon. Decorations announced the beginning of autumn.
