Crawford talks about Special Olympics

Jeanne Crawford, special education teacher at Midway Elementary and Special Olympics coordinator for Pierce County, spoke to the Blackshear Rotary Club last week. Crawford gave a report on the upcoming Special Olympics, November 21. The Olympics feature an opening ceremony with torch relay, six events, a closing ceremony, plus an Olympic Village and resource room for parents. The event is held annually at PCMS. Crawford will be taking her students on a field trip to Ace Hardware where they will each be tasked with a project, and then to lunch at J. Leonard’s on Main. Rotarians will provide dessert for the group and club members will also eat with the students to help them navigate the menu selections, table settings and dinner conversation.
