Dumps like a truck

Dumps like a truck

When was the last time you saw a dump truck where the only things dirty on it were the treads of the tires? A new, sparkling clean 2025 Mack Granite 64FR Logan Dump Body was delivered to Pierce County Road Department Sept. 10 by Worldwide Equipment of Albany. Road Superintendent Bruce Carter and his drivers are already looking forward to putting their newest piece of equipment to use. Pictured below (l-r), drivers Michael Becker and Darren Conover inspect the 455 horsepower engine and prepare to climb in the cab. The unit cost $221,048, but Carter says it made more sense to get a new one than continuing to repair the old one. “Now, availability and time will be the major issues going forward,” Carter adds, saying they need to haul a lot of dirt to a lot of different roads. Chairman Neal Bennett and County Manager Raphel Maddox were also on hand to inspect the new truck.
