Blackshear Elem. seeks school council members Blackshear Elementary School is accepting applications for the 2024-2025 school council. The council meets four times per year. Individuals can nominate themselves or someone else to serve a 2-year term. They are asked to please apply in person at the front desk during the week of September 30-October 4. BES will accept four new members this year. If more than four are interested, parents will be notified and a vote will be held October 17 at the Blackshear Elementary School. The first BES School Council meeting will take place at 7:50 a.m. Thursday, October 24.

Breast Cancer awareness reception is Oct. 3 Memorial Satilla Health will host a Breast Cancer Awareness Month reception Thursday, October 3, at 6 p.m. in the Main Lobby, 1900 Tebeau Street Waycross. Join us for guided tours of the 3D Mammography Suite and a Survivor Recognition Ceremony. The event will include skincare consultations, refreshments and prizes.
