Donnie Mae Lee Merritt, 91, of Kinard, FL, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024, at her residence.
Born in Blackshear, October 31, 1932, she lived in Kinard since the first of this year. She was a 1950 graduate of Blackshear High School and retired from Florida State Marine where she was a secretary. She loved to travel and enjoyed cooking and playing card games. She lived life to the fullest and made the most of every moment. She attended the Christian Information Center.
She was a daughter of the late Ruel and Elizabeth Murphy Lee. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Merritt; a son, John Merritt; her sister and all three of her brothers.
Survivors include her two daughters, Rose (Rory) Leeson, Kinard and Nancy (Kyle) Skibsted, Missoula, MT; her son, Art Merritt, Sopchoppy, FL; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 31, from the Pearson- Merritt
Dial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Lamb officiating.
Interment followed in the High Bluff Cemetery in Brantley County.
