WAYCROSS — Mr. Albert Jackson Williams was born on Janaury 21, 1958 in Waycross, and was the youngest of eight children born to the late Jonas Williams, Sr. and Frances Marie Jackson Williams.
Mr. Williams also was preceded in death by three children; Delatia Williams, Allen Williams, and Albert Williams, Jr. Also preceding him were four siblings; Stella Williams, Jerome Williams, Arthur Williams, Sr. and Eddie Williams, Sr.
He received his formal education from the local public school system and graduated from Waycross High School in 1976. At an early age, he joined the Church of Christ Church in Albuquerque, N.M. He was later affiliated with Solid Rock Church under Pastor Lawrence Hill. Mr. Williams worked as a laborer for CSX Transportation, Wayne Thrift Plumbing and built homes for the family business of Williams & Sons for a number of years.
He transitioned to be with the Lord Saturday, May 20, 2023, unexpectedly, in Waycross after an accident.
Mr. Williams leaves to cherish his memory one son, Andrew Williams; siblings, Martha Jean Umphrey (Albert) of Las Vegas, Nev., Jonas Williams, Jr. (Sharon), Nancy Marie Powell (Robert); one sister-in-law Irma Williams; one uncle Walter Johnson, one aunt Valerie Foster all of Waycross; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A graveside service for Mr. Williams will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 3, in Barnar Memorial Cemetery on Smith Road with Elder Lawrence Hill bringing words of comfort.
