William “Bill” E. Sanders, 90, of Blackshear, passed away Friday, October 16, 2026, at Folkston Park Nursing Home & Rehabilitation in Folkston.
Born in Ochlocknee April 17, 1936, he lived in Thomasville and later Douglas, before moving to Pierce County in 2024. He was retired from the U.S. Navy but would go on to work in law enforcement in Thomas County through the sheriff’s office as well as through the Georgia State Patrol. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was the son of the late William Emory and Annie Lois Fain Sanders.
Survivors include a dear friend, Marcie Clark Cox , Patterson, Petresa Bennett, Blackshear and Amber Griffin, Surrency, as well as several other friends.
A visitation will be held from 5-6 p.m. Monday, November 9, at Pearson-Dial Funeral Home with military honors being conducted at 5 p.m. by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
