ATKINSON Community — With heavy hearts and deep sadness, we say goodbye to our beloved son, husband, father, and brother, Andrew Clayton Smith, who was unexpectedly taken from us at just 46-years-old Tuesday, October 20, 2026.
Smith was born September 30, 1980 in Jacks onville, Fla. He had been a Brantley County resident in the Atkinson Community for over 35 years.
Smith’s passing has left his family heartbroken never imagining their time with him would end so soon.
He leaves behind a family who loves him more than words can say and who will forever cherish the memories, laughter, his magnetic smile, and the moments they were blessed to share with him.
Smith is survived by his loving wife, Nicole Smith; his sons, Elijah and Evan Smith; his parents, Michael and Vicki Smith; his sister, Jenny (Blake) Willis; his step-daughters, Kellie and Lexi McQuaig; his nieces and nephews Abby (Wyatt) Hunt, Nathan Willis and Joel (Macayla) Willis; and a large circle of family and friends who will miss him every single day.
His life touched each differently, but the love for him is something they will always share Although their hearts are broken and wishing there could have had more years with him, the family finds comfort in knowing God now holds him.
We may not understand why his life was called home so soon, but we can hold on to the promise that this separation is not forever. Our faith gives us hope that one day, in God's time, we will see his beautiful smile agam, hear his voice, hear him laugh and sing, and hold him close once more.
Until that day comes, we will carry him with us in our hearts, in our memories, and with a love that will never fade. We will think of him in the quiet moments, smile when memories bring him near, and speak his name so that he will always remain a part of our lives. We will miss him every day, love him always, and hold on to the hope of a joyful reunion someday.
A funeral service was held at King Memorial Baptist Church Saturday, October 24, 2026.
The graveside service will immediately follow the funeral at Homeward Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Evan Smith, Elijah Smith, Michael Smith, Nathan Willis, Joel Willis and Blake Willis.
Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
