NAHUNTA — A group of concerned citizens gathered Saturday, October 24 in Nahunta to discuss what could be done to oppose plans for multiple data centers to be constructed in Brantley County. Approximately 20 people assembled at Sissy’s Kitchen to hear Kat Montgomery (left) with the 100 Miles organization out of Brunswick discuss steps for organizing locally and advocating for a ban on data centers. Montgomery said she works in various counties, but people from Brantley County “show up and ask the hard questions.” Montgomery also spoke about techniques to assist with issues of presentation, registering to speak at Brantley County Commission meetings and how to make the most of the allotted five-minute speaking time. The next meeting is Saturday, November 21 at Sissy’s Kitchen in Nahunta. Shown above are Montgomery with organizer Tanya Tomanek.
