WCHS Class of 2026 had 100 percent graduation

Ware County Schools is celebrating a milestone for its high school, announcing the Class of 2026 achieved a 100 percent graduation rate.

Supt. Dr. Lynn Barber recently joined current and former members of the high school leadership team to recognize the accomplishment.

The Class of 2026 graduated May 23 in Memorial Stadium. District officials described the result as the product of sustained collaboration among teachers, counselors, administrators and support staff focused on academic guidance, graduation planning, individualized student support, and ongoing encouragement.

“This remarkable accomplishment reflects the dedication of educators, school leaders, counselors, and support personnel who worked together to ensure students had the guidance, encouragement and opportunities needed to successfully complete their high school education,” the district in announcing the accomplishment.

Officials emphasized the rate reflects more than a single statistic. They pointed to relationships built with students, efforts to identify and address individual needs, and a shared commitment that continued across a leadership transition.

Dr. Tyrone Kellogg served as principal through the Class of 2026’s senior year before retiring. Julie Augustine assumed the principal role for the 2026-27 school year.

The WCHS graduation rate was part of a record for the state, education officials said. Georgia’s statewide four-year graduation rate for the Class of 2026 reached a record 88.5 percent, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Ware County was among a small number of districts that graduated every student in its adjusted cohort.

Ware County Schools congratulated the Class of 2026 and thanked the staff members who supported students throughout their high school years.
