Willis
WAYCROSS — Mr. James Franklin Willis, Sr., 88, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2026, at his residence in Waycross following an extended illness.
He was born in Waycross, to the late John Oscar Willis and Marjorie Mae McQuaig Dixon. He was the owner and operator of Willis Tile Company for many years and was a faithful member of Sweat Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Johnnie Strickland.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Willis of Waycross; three children, James Franklin Willis, Jr., of Blackshear, Robert Wesley Willis (Betty) of Hilliard, Fla., and Cary Ann Ferbrache (Carl) of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren, John Willis, Ian Atwell, Taylor Addair, Jennifer Braley, and Carl Ferbrache IV; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Teresa Marie Clark (Robbie) of Waycross.
A private memorial service was held October 27 at Sweat Memorial Baptist Church.
