BRADENTON, Fla. — Mrs. Penny Lorraine Tillman Griffin, 82, passed away peacefully Monday, October 5, 2026 in Bradenton, Fla.
Mrs. Griffin was born in Jacksonville, Fla., to Eld ridge Mordant Tillman Sr. and Eula Kate Davis Tillman. She grew up alongside her three siblings, Conrad Tillman (Ila), Eldridge Tillman Jr., and Elizabeth Tillman Newton (Dean), all of Jacksonville, who preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents and siblings, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William Ralph “Bill” Griffin.
She leaves behind her daughters, Angela Griffin and Melissa Eastep; her five grandchildren, Krista, Steven, Ivey, Stewart Jr., and Sarah; her four great grandchildren, Izik, Caleb, Ariel, and Savannah; sister- at-heart, Margaret Joy; and the family who loved her beyond measure.
A funeral service was held October 17 at Beulah Baptist Church in Alma. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
