WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Mrs. Gail Strickland Murray Moody, 85, passed away Friday, October 16, 2026, at her daughter’s residence in West Palm Beach, Fla., after an extended illness.
She was born October 26, 1940 in Pierce County to the late Roscoe Strickland and Pearl Whitehead Strickland Corbett. Mrs. Moody retired from State Farm Insurance as the secretary, and she was formerly employed as a cashier at the Old Depot. She was a member of Jamestown Baptist Church and the Faithful Followers Sunday School Class. She loved her family and working in her flowers.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Roger F. Moody; brother, Dennis Strickland; and grandson, Robert Murray IV.
Survivors include her children, Rob Murray (Gabi) of Dacula, Ga., Rick Murray (Rhonda) of Atlanta, Rhonda Strickland (Alan) of West Palm Beach, Stephanie Yonz and Jennifer Moody both of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Heather Murray, Joey Murray (Hayli), Zack Murray, John Barbee (Tabitha), Holly Barbee Rowe (Andrew), Madison Yontz, Kala Lynch (Mike), Beau Strickland (Bree), and Henry Moody; numerous great grandchildren; brother, Ronny Strickland (Mary Ann) of Waycross; sister-in-law, Gail Strickland of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held October 20 at Greenlawn Cemetery.
Music Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
