FOLKSTON — Jack McArthur Prescott, Sr., 83, of Folkston, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2026.
Prescott was born in Charlton County on Sept ember 20, 1943, to the late Benjamin Prescott and Julia Harris Prescott. H e proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force serving in Spain, Germany, Africa, Oregon, Thailand, Texas and Georgia. Prescott was a member and oversaw Raulerson Hunting Club for many years. He also was a member of the VFW.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, J.M. Prescott; sisters, Jane Prescott, Maxine Dees, Judy Thrift, and Jacqueline “Jackie” Prescott; and brothers, B.M. Prescott, Donald Prescott, and Bill Prescott.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years: Carolyn Prescott; son, George Prescott; grandchildren, Candi (Zack) Lewis and Caitlyn (Brandon) Bulloch; greatgrandchildren, Kenzie, Liam, Joey, and Madeline; and sister and brother-inlaw, Annie and Roger Thrift.
Funeral service was held October 8 in the chapel of Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home with R.B. Gaskins officiating. Burial followed at Corinth Cemetery.
