Special to the WJH
The Exchange Club of Waycross was honored to welcome Ware County High School head football coach Jason Strickland, who shared an inspiring look at this year’s Gator football team — the young men who proudly wear the Green and Gold — and why the support of the Ware County community means so much to the program.
Now in his eighth season leading the Gators, coach Strickland has built an impressive legacy at Ware County. Entering the 2026 season, he had compiled a 64-21 record, captured three region championships, and led Ware County to the 2022 Class AAAAA State Championship.
