ATLANTA — There have been 24 regions which have had the top three ranked football teams in a classification over the 74 years of Top 10 polls conducted by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and its predecessors — the Atlanta Journal and the Atlanta Constitution.
Region 3’s Toombs County, Appling County and Pierce County are the current top three teams in Class 3A. It’s the fourth time this season the trio have occupied the positions.
The Bulldogs have been perched atop the Class 3A poll since the pre-season. Both PCHS and the Pirates have made steady climbs each week with each climbing as high as No. 2.
