A Halloween trunk-or-treat event hosted by Harborview Pierce is so far the only Halloween event in Blackshear scheduled for October 30.
Harborview Pierce has invited the community to its Trunk & Treat Fest 36 p.m. Friday, October 30 at 221 East Carter Ave., Blackshear. Everyone is welcome.
In light of ongoing work happening at Blackshear City Park, the city has opted to not host a trick or treat event there this year. The decision was confirmed by The Times at the end of the city council’s October 6 monthly work session.
Temporary sod will be brought in to make the space suitable for November’s Pecan Festival, but the only recent discussion regarding Halloween was a decision months ago to permanently reschedule future observances of the holiday to the Thursday of the week in which it would occur.
Meanwhile, Harborview is still looking for decorated trunks, vendors and donations to help host a fun, safe, family-friendly event for our community. Donations to help make the event a success are gratefully accepted.
