BLACKSHEAR — Debra Kay Morgan, 71, of Blackshear, died Thursday afternoon, October 1, 2026, at her daughter’s residence after an extended illness.
She was born in Homerville to the late John Wesl e y Morgan and Jeanette Inman Morgan. Ms. Morgan was retired from Baptist Village Retirement Communities, where she worked as a CNA. Most recently, she had been attending Pine Grove Baptist Church in Pierce County. Ms. Morgan enjoyed reading, doing word searches and was an avid fan of Elvis Presley.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sons, Jeffrey Meeks and Eric Meeks; one brother, Herschel Morgan; and one sister, Esther Franklin.
She is survived by her daughter, Melody Manning (Lisa) of Blackshear; her grandchildren, Michael Bonilla (Alyssa), and Adam Bonilla; her great grandchildren, Maverick Bonilla, Magnolia Bonilla; her God grandchild, Brett Carter; her brother, Johnny Morgan of Waycross; her sister, Teresa Ralph (Wiley) of Blackshear; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, October 6 in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Suwannee Chapel Cemetery.
