Cruz, Thomas co-queens in rare tie vote

Pierce County’s Homecoming made history Friday when seniors Daisy Cruz and Riley Thomas were both crowned Homecoming Queens during the annual halftime festivities. In a rare tie, Cruz and Thomas were selected as queens by their fellow classmates. Shown above (l-r) are PCHS principal Dr. Brandi Todd, Sarah Kate Echols, princess, co-homecoming queens Daisy Cruz and Riley Thomas and the 2025 homecoming queen Maddie Lee. The co-crowning was the culmination of a week full of activities celebrating the Big City Lights, Bear Country Pride theme. Rainy weather accompanied the crowning ceremony at half-time. The Bears defeated Beach High School of Savannah 65-20. Afterwards, students celebrated with the annual homecoming dance at the high school.
