Dorothy Tuten Kimbrell, 96, of Waycross died Wednesday morning, September 30, 2026, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross, after an extended illness.
She was born in Blackshear to the late Lemuel O. Tuten and Ethel Rachel James Tuten and made Waycross her home for many years. She worked several years for Pantry Pride in the meat market and was known for her cooking and exceptional hard work keeping her yards. Most of all, she loved her children and family and the time spent with them.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hugh Kimbrell; a son, Donnie Hugh Kimbrell; two sons-in-law, Jim Goins and Lloyd Stauffer; three siblings, Howard Tuten, Carol Mound and Jean Cornelius.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Stauffer, Newberry, Florida and Shirley Goins, Chiefland, FL; six grandchildren, Jennifer Jasinski, husband Drew, Michele Johnson, husband Scott, James Goins, wife Shannon, Brandon Goins, wife Becca, Matthew Goins and Kimberly Rizer, husband Shawn; 16 great-grandchildren, Addison, Connor, Bryson, Eli, Ali, Lola, Madelyn, Kaiden, Landon, Kyler, Chandler, Krysten, Amanda, Michael, Thristen and Hailey; many great-great grandchildre and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m.  Monday, October 5,  in Oakland Cemetery in Waycross with the Rev. Steve Dees officiating.
