Ware County recognized the school system’s teachers and staff members of the year during the high school’s home football game September 18 in Memorial Stadium. Each school in the district had a teacher and staff member honored prior to the game along with their principal by members of the school board and Supt. Dr. Lynn Barber. Jenna Brooks of Memorial Drive Elementary, was chosen District Teacher of the Year while Scott Raulerson of Williams Heights Elementary was selected District Staff Member of the Year. The system also honored Waycross Middle School Principal David Hitt with the inaugural Leader of the Year. The three were chosen in July. Brooks will represent Ware County in the competition for Georgia Teacher of the Year later this year.
