Georgia’s General Election is just two months away and the deadline to register for eligibility to vote is Monday, October 5.
The Ware County Board of Elections and Registration will register eligible residents weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Monday. Those registering need photo identification and proof of residence.
Carlos Nelson, Supervisor of Elections, said if a person doesn’t have an acceptable government-issued photo ID for voting purposes, the board of elections office can issue a Georgia Voter Identification Card at no charge.
Early voting for the General Election on Tuesday November 3 begins Tuesday, October 13 and ends Friday, October 30. Those registered by October 5 can vote in person weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the board office, 408 Tebeau Street.
Applications for an absentee ballot currently are being accepted. Deadline to request those is 5 p.m., Friday, October 23.
Requests can be submited to securemyabsenteeballot. sos. ga. gov, emailed to tgill@warecountyga. gov, by mail to the board office address, fax to (912) 287-4364 or in person.
Absentee ballots can be mailed to or dropped off at the board office. They must be received by the end of voting November 3.
Voting Election Day will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all locations in Ware County.
There are no contested local races on the ballot, only those for representation at the state and national levels.
