The Pierce County Industrial Development and Building Authority (IDBA) recently discussed and/or voted on the following during their regular monthly meeting September 2.
BESS memorandum approved: IDBA Executive Director James announced the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the Pierce IDBA and Grenergy has been approved. The MOU establishes the schedule of tax abatements for the proposed Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facility in Patterson as well as Grenergy’s promised yearly donations to the county fired departments and scholarship funds for Pierce County High School graduates.
With the approval of the MOU, James says the IDBA’s part in the process is now complete. The next phase in the life of the proposed BESS facility is to go before the Joint Planning and Zoning commission to request the parcel of land for the proposed facility be rezoned.
