Sandra E. Smith, 79, of Mershon passed away Wednesday, September 23,2026, at her residence, after an extended illness.
She was born March 19, 1947, in Bacon County to Eldon Duward Boatright and Melba Earnestine Winn Boatright.
She was retired from Satilla REA after many years and was a member of Bristol Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Paul and Merle Smith.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Sidney Smith, Mershon; daughters, Nancy Malphurs (Robert), Dallas, TX and Meg Hilkemeyer (Mitch), Panama City Beach, FL; grandchildren, Gantt Lairsey, Russ Harter, Reed Malphurs, Holt Harter, Rylan Malphurs and Landon Hilkemeyer; great-grandchildren, Collins Lairsey, Stella Harter and Beau Lairsey; brother, Duward Boatright (Mary Claire), Bristol; sister, Wanda Mixon (Donald), Waycross; sister-in-law, Paula Smith and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1-2:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at Bristol Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, from the Bristol Baptist Church with Pastor Brett Howell and Pastor R. C. James officiating.
Per Mrs. Sandra’s wishes, those attending are asked to wear casual attire and bright colors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Comfort Care Hospice,
Crosby Funeral Home of Alma is in charge of arrangements.
