The City of Hoboken council discussed/voted on the following agenda items during the Tuesday, September 1 monthly meeting.

• Audit report: Mayor Joey Crews informed the council the state audit has been approved.

“We have a note right here saying we have received a letter from the state stating the audit was approved,” said Crews. “The clerk will distribute it once received.”

• Office Administration: Crews told council members a proposed budget hearing is pending tax figures from the commissioner, which have not yet been received.

• Hoboken Police Department: The mayor reported approximately 22 tickets were issued last month. Police Chief Sammy Hendrix was not in attendance after just returning from vacation.

• Fire Department, Street and Water, and Mobile Home Park/Community Center: Mayor Crews reported all as being in good standing with no new issues.

• Tree removal: The council discussed a hazardous tree limb posing a safety risk.

A motion was carried to hire True Cut Sawworks to clean up the tree for a bid of $900.

• Property bidding: Council members addressed the need for work on the Trailer Park property.

A motion was carried to advertise in the newspaper to solicit bids for the Trailer Park property.

City Attorney Adam Ferrell informed the council they could reject any or all bids received.

The council entered into a 26-minute executive session.
