CANEY BAY — Brantley County stretched its winning streak to season-high tying three games beating visiting Class AA 10th-ranked Jeff Davis Tuesday.
The Lady Herons (7-2) knocked off the Lady Yellow Jackets (6-9) 10-4 September 8.
Brantley County’s Region 3AAA makeup game Saturday, September 12 at home vs. Pierce County will have to be rescheduled after the game was halted in the bottom of the fourth inning tied at 2-all. No makeup date has been announced.
The Lady Herons hosted Class AAA top-ranked Appling County Tuesday, September 15. Brantley County visits the Lady Pirates with a Thursday, September 17 trip to Baxley for a 6 p.m. start.
BCHS will host 10th-ranked Toombs County Tuesday, September 22 at 6 p.m. Brantley County travels to Lyons Thursday, September 24 to face the Lady Bulldogs.

The Lady Herons scored the first five runs of the game and the final five in turning back Jeff Davis.
Brantley County struck for two runs in the second inning starting a stretch of five consecutive run-scoring frames.
Caiden Jones (1-for-3) was hit by the second pitch of the second. Addisyn Grafford (2-for-3, two RBI) followed with an infield hit. Following a wild pitch advancing the runners, Jones scored on a Kynli Flowers’ groundout. Grafford raced home on a two-out wild pitch for a 2-0 lead.
The Lady Herons extended the margin to 3-0 in the third inning on a two-out, solo homer off the bat of Sydnee Davis (1for-3).
BCHS plated two runs in the fourth to open up a 5-0 advantage. Grafford reached on an error and moved to second when Madison Walker legged out a fielder’s choice grounder.
Flowers executed a sacrifice bunt moving Grafford and Walker’s courtesy runner, Halli Knox, into scoring position. After Kynslea Garrison (1-for-2) was hit by a pitch, Edie Lowther (1-for-3) lined a first-pitch, tworun single for a five-run margin.
Jeff Davis struck for four runs in the top of the fourth against Lowther (7 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 0 ER, 4 K, 5 BB, 1 HBP). The Lady Yellow Jackets plated their runs after two outs and one on base. The visitors scored on a two-out single and a three-run homer to pull to within 5-4.
Brantley County got two of the runs back in the home half of the fifth catching two-out lightning to move the lead to 7-4. Grafford kept the inning alive with a twoout walk. Walker and Flowers were each hit loading the bases. Garrison ripped a first-pitch single scoring Grafford and Knox, who was courtesy running for Walker.
The Lady Herons followed with a three-run sixth inning for the final 10-4 score.
Rilee Story (1-for-4) got the rally started with a one-out, firstpitch single. After a walk to Davis, Jones slapped a ru-scoring single for an 8-4 lead with both runners taking an extra base on the throw home. Grafford followed with a two-run single two pitches later.

Brantley County was threatening to break a 2-all tie in the bottom of the fourth inning when a thunderstorm halted play against PCHS.
Walker (1-for-2) singled with one out and was removed for courtesy runner Knox. Flowers (2-for-2, RBI) followed with a double. Garrison had a 2-0 count when play was stopped.
The Lady Herons scored single runs in the first two innings against Bailey Barboza (3.1 IP, 6 H, 2 R 2 ER, 2 K, 0 BB) in taking a 2-0 lead.
Lydia Anderson (1-for-2, two stole bases) lined a leadoff single in the bottom of the first. She stole second and third and scored on a Davis (1-for-2, RBI, stolen base) one-out single.
BCHS upped the margin to 20 in the second on Flowers’ oneout, first-pitch homer to left.
The Lady Bears broke through in the third against Lowther (4 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 7 K, 1 BB), who fanned six of the first eight batters she faced.
Maelee Childers (1-for-1) blooped a leadoff single to center and raced to third on Lanie Mai’s (1-for-1) double. Riley Chambless executed a suicide squeeze scoring Childers with the first run.
A double steal with Mai and Chambless was foiled when Mai was tagged out at the plate. A Leeanna Davis (1-for-2) two-out single plated Chambless tying the score at 2-all.
