Fowler
WAYCROSS — Gloria Aldridge Fowler, 87, of Waycross died Thursday morning, September 10, 2026, at her residence after an extended illness.
Mrs. Fowler was born in Waycross to the late Berry Hansford Aldridge and Flor ence Daniels Aldridge, and made Waycross her home for most of her life. She was an exceptional homemaker who enjoyed reading, playing piano and spending time in the Bible Scriptures. She loved her grandchildren and the time spent with them.
In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Stephen Fowler; two children, Ronald Gordon and Glenda Williams; a grandson, Tyler Griffis; and 12 older siblings.
Mrs. Fowler is survived by four children, Gloria Griffis of Waycross, Winton Cox (wife Pamlea) of Waycross, Bethlyn Norsworthy, Mark Fowler (wife Pam) of Brantley County; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service was held September 15 in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery.
