Curtis Neal 'Curt' Steedley Jr.

Curtis Neal “Curt” Steedley, Jr., 68, of Blackshear, passed away Monday afternoon, September 7, 2026, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.

Born in Alma, GA on July 22, 1958, he lived in Pierce County most of his life. He was a 1976 graduate of Patterson High School where he played basketball for the Patterson Eagles. He would go on to attend Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton and later attend and graduate from Georgia Southern with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. While at Georgia Southern, he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He worked for Belk for a time before his entrepreneurial ambitions took flight seeing him as a book author (Monday Morning Syndrome) as well as a business owner (Jamaican Sun).

He loved cooking and trying new things, was an animal lover, and enjoyed all sports, especially the Georgia Bulldogs. Curt and his wife, Linda, took a leap of faith many years ago by going through the adoption process and adopting three brothers from Russia. These boys, now young men, brought so much joy to him. He loved supporting them in their sports or whatever their passions were. He was of the Methodist faith.

He was the son of the late Curtis Neal Sr. and Jimmie Sue Tyre Steedley. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dinah Miles and twin nephews, Whit and Walt Hollis.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Linda Booker Steedley, Blackshear; three sons, Victor Steedley, Blackshear, Sergey Steedley (Tiffany Boyette), Waycross, and Yuri Stedley, Blackshear; his sister, Kathy (Jerry) Hollis, Savannah; his brother-in-law, Monroe Miles, Blackshear; his sister-in-law, Barbara (Glynn) Hodges, Chattanooga, TN; three grandchildren, Emmerlynn Steedley, Bowen Steedley and Maebry Steedley; nieces and nephews, Amber Miles, Landon (Mara) Miles, Kyle (Hannah) Hollis, Neal (Megan) Hollis, Alice Hodges and Matthew (Jenny) Hodges; great-nieces and great-nephews, Hadleigh Hodges, Watson Hollis, Anna Hampton Hollis and Lilah Miles; his pet dogs, Loki and Whiskey and several other relatives and friends.
