ATLANTA — The Technical College System of Georgia announced last week the appointment of Amanda Morris Foreman as Interim President of Coastal Pines Technical College following the retirement of President Lonnie Roberts.
Foreman currently serves as Executive Vice President and Vice President for Academic Affairs at CPTC. She brings more than 27 years of experience in technical and workforce educ ation, academic affairs, institutional operations, and community engagement within the system.
“I’m incredibly honored to have the opportunity to serve Coastal Pines Technical College in this role,” Foreman said. “This college and the communities we serve have been an important part of my life and career for more than two decades.
“I’ve seen firsthand the difference technical education can make for our students, their families, and the businesses and industries that depend on a skilled workforce.”
Roberts announced his retirement last month effective September 30 after five years in the role and 25 years in service to the institution and its predecessor, Altamaha Technical College.
“Amanda has dedicated her career to serving students and strengthening technical education in southeast Georgia, and she has been an integral part of Coastal Pines Technical College’s success, said Greg Dozier, TCSG Commissioner. “Her extensive experience, strong relationships throughout the region, and deep understanding of the college will provide steady leadership during this transition.
“I’m grateful to Amanda for stepping into this role and know she will continue to keep students, faculty, staff, and the communities Coastal Pines serves at the center of everything the college does.”
Foreman has served as Executive Vice President of CPTC since July 2021, serving as a senior advisor to Roberts on institutional operations, strategic initiatives, and organizational effectiveness. Since 2016, She also has served as Vice President for Academic Affairs, providing executive leadership and oversight for the college’s academic programs and instructional services.
“I look forward to working alongside our outstanding faculty and staff to build on the strong foundation President Roberts has established and continue creating opportunities for our students and the communities we’re proud to serve,” Foreman said.
She began her career with Okefenokee Technical College in 1999, serving in a number of instructional and leadership positions in her 15 years with the college. After the creation of CPTC, she served as Dean for Academic Affairs, Secondary Initiatives and General Education from 2014 to 2016 before being named Vice President for Academic Affairs.
