WAYCROSS — Walter Earl King, 61, of Waycross died Saturday, August 29, 2026, in Waycross after a brief illness.
King was born in Waycross to the late James Brantley King and Elizabeth Irene Dasher King, and lived most of his life in South Georgia. He recently attended Swamp Road Baptist Church.
King is survived by his brother, James L. King (wife Denise) of Toney, Ala; stepmother, Ruth M. King of Waycross; a nephew, Brantley W. King (wife Dana) of Hazel Green, Ala.; an aunt, Missy Marks; special cousins, Robbie and Steven Marks, Debbie Carter (husband Gary), Stanley Stone (wife Sandy); and numerous other relatives.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, September 2) in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial will take place in Greenlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. today at the funeral home.
