Ware County’s two-game slate of road softball games was interrupted by rain forcing one game to be stopped and a second played under darkening skies and the threat of rain.
The Lady Gators (2-7 overall, 0-1 Region 1-AAAAA) were rained out Monday, August 24 at Brunswick three batters into the top of the second inning after taking a 3-2 lead.
Ware County fell Thursday, August 27 at seventh-ranked Wayne County in the region opener, 9-1 in five innings.
The Lady Gators hosted region foe Jenkins of Savannah Tuesday, September 1 at 5 p.m. They travel today (Wednesday, September 2) to Pearson to face Atkinson County at 6 p.m.
Ware County visits regionmate Statesboro Thursday, September 3 for a 5 p.m. encounter. The Lady Gators are then off until Thursday, September 10 when Evans comes to town for a region doubleheader starting at 4 p.m.

BRUNSWICK — Ware County’s Ella Musgrove’s oneout, bloop single to center field in the second inning scored Natalie Pittman breaking a 2-2 tie before the game was halted.
Pittman drew a leadoff walk, moved to second on Londyn Young’s groundout and scored on Musgrove’s eight-pitch base hit for a 3-2 lead just before the game was stopped.
Ware County struck for two runs in the top of the first. Musgrove was hit by a 3-1 offering with Teriayn Kirkland drawing a walk. After Musgrove and courtesy runner Lauren Bell moved up on a passed ball, Reagan Middleton (1-for-1) delivered a double to leftcenter scoring both for the lead.
The Lady Pirates evened the score in the bottom of the first against Kirkland (1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 K, 0 BB). Brunswick scored on a one-out single and a two-out single tying the score at 2-2.

JESUP — Wayne County blasted a pair of two-run homers over the first two innings igniting two three-run uprisings in beating the Lady Gators.
The Lady Yellow Jackets jumped ahead 3-0 in their half of the first inning, scoring on a Kallie Scott (2-for-2) double and Addison Thompson’s (1-for-3) one-out, two-run homer to left off Kirkland (.2 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 K, 1 BB, 1 HBP).
Wayne County doubled the margin to 6-0 in the second inning. The Lady Yellow Jackets received a two-run homer from Scott off Middleton (4 IP, 9 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 5 K, 1 BB, 1 WP) with the final run scoring on an error.
The Lady Gators put their first runner on leading off the third with Cassidy Lee getting hit. Maggie McQuaig followed with a sacrifice bunt. Musgrove drew a two-out walk before the inning ended.
The Lady Yellow Jackets extended the margin to 8-0 with a two-run home half of the third. They got a run off an error with the second scoring on a base hit.
Ware County broke through for a run in the fourth with Middleton’s (1-for-2) leadoff double the first hit of the game. Kara Coleman (1-for-2) followed with a single putting runners on the corners. Mattie Forysth’s oneout grounder plated Middleton cutting the deficit to 81.
Wayne County ended the game with a run in the bottom of the fifth after two outs and nobody on base. Two singles were sandwiched around an intentional walk loading the bases. A wild pitch scored the lead runner ending the game.
