The Waycross City Commission approved an ordinance for a millage rate and a resolution for a grant to fund infrastructure upgrades last week at its bi-monthly meeting in City Hall.
Commissioners had adopted the rate of 8.379 earlier this month, a rollback from the 8.550 level of 2025. The ordinance was one of two commissioners passed in the August 18 meeting.
The resolution approved, one of two during the session, allows the city to seek funding from a Community Development Block Grant offered by the state for disaster recovery.
