Herrin
PIERCE COUNTY — Mr. James Reppard Herrin, Jr., 75, passed away Friday night, August 21, 2026, at his residence in Pierce County after an extended illness.
He was born September 8, 1950, in Waycross to the late James Reppard Herrin, Sr. and Laverne Chancey Herrin. Herrin was formerly employed by Pepsi-Cola for 25 years and Winship Transportation for 15 years as a truck driver. He was a member of Blackshear Church of God of Prophecy, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping outdoors. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandson, Gary.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his three sisters, Sue Nell King, Linda Wilson, and Melba Carlock.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Debra Ann Cox Herrin of Waycross; his son, Jamie Herrin (Samantha) of Blackshear; his grandson, Gary Herrin; two sisters, Barbara Jo Bowen (Will) and Sherry Carter (Arthur Ray) both of Waycross; one brother, Richie Herrin of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held August 25 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Suwannee Chapel Cemetery.
