Capernaum is an unlikely headquarters for Jesus’ ministry.
He might’ve chosen the culture of Rome, the intellectual atmosphere of Athens, or the religious centers in Jerusalem. But instead, he overlooked Rome and Athens and left the religious fortresses in Jerusalem, to spend time in the quiet, isolated, culde-sacs of Cana.
It was there he healed the official’s son, and Nazareth, where he offered a big God to little people who only wanted a small tribal god. So, Jesus walked away from his hometown.
