Here is the news for this week. ***** To our community: Thank you from the Golf Association: The Waycross/Blackshear Golf Association wrapped up its 46th Annual Golf Tournament at the Lakes at Laura S. Walker State Park near Waycross Aug. 14-16. The weekend was filled with golf, fellowship, great food, laughter and plenty of memories as golfers, families, friends and supporters came together for this year’s “Tee Up for a Cause” tournament. First place-Garnett Wright, second place-Eddie Perry and third place- Nathaniel Bellmy. Everyone came together to make the true focus giving back to the community. The tournament helps support scholarships and brings awareness to prostate health and Alzheimer’s research and education. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all golfers, sponsors, volunteers and supporters who helped make this year’s tournament possible. Give Back. ***** On The Move for God’s Ministry presents Fresh Fire at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 29, at Alpha Omega Holiness Church, 537 Watson Street, Blackshear. Theme will be Renewing the Mindset. Guest speakers are Bishop Arthur Carter, Evangelist Maxine Floyd and Elder Jacqueline Wallace. Hosts are Evangelist Beverly Hudson and Brother Randy Hudson. Speaker will be Minister Wesley and Randy and Beverly Hudson will host. Come and be with us for a powerful time of worship, fellowship and the Word.
