Valdosta State University in Valdosta is proud to announce six local residents recently graduated in the spring, 2026 class.
They include: Rusty Bryan of Patterson, Master of Arts in Teaching in Health and Physical Education; Jade Davlin of Blackshear earned the Bachelor of Science in Education in Elementary Education; Victoria Gonzalez of Blackshear earned the Master of Education in Counselor Education; Alexis Jenkins of Blackshear earned the Education Specialist in Teacher Leadership; Kenzie Meeks of Blackshear earned the Bachelor of Science in Education in Communication Disorders; and Roger Williams of Blackshear earned the Master of Arts in Teaching in Special Education.
Georgia Southern Two Pierce County residents, Joely Delaney of Patterson and Danny Joe Taylor of Blackshear, were recently named to the summer semester dean’s list at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro.
To be eligible for the dean's list, a student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

Miguel Deleon of Blackshear graduated with a BS degree in Psychology from Berry College.

Students enrolled in 12 or more semester hours of study with a grade point average of 4.0 are placed on the President's List for the semester.

Students with a semester average of 3.5 to 3.9 on 12 or more semester hours of study are placed on the Dean's List for that semester.
