The Session Hill Community Center of Blackshear recently celebrated another successful summer youth program.Orgnanizers credit that success to the support of community partners, volunteers and local organizations dedicated to investing in the next generation.
Beginning in June, the program’s youthful participants engaged in a variety of educational and enrichment activities designed to promote academic growth, financial responsibility, creativity and positive character development. A cornerstone of this year's program were the partnerships with Georgia Power and Prime South Bank, whose representatives presented interactive financial literacy workshops to teach essential money management skills, including budgeting, saving and responsible financial decision-making.
The Pierce County Sheriff's Office provided educational presentations focused on safety, leadership and making positive life choices. Organizers say their presence fostered meaningful conversations and trust between local law enforcement and the community's youth.
In addition to educational programming, participants have enjoyed arts and enrichment activities in a safe, supportive environment where learning and personal development remain the primary focus. The Session Hill Community Center also extended appreciation to the local businesses which donated meals and refreshments throughout the program. Special thanks go out to Domino's, Burger King, Piggly Wiggly and Wall’s IGA for helping ensure every participant has access to nutritious meals during the summer program.
The Session Hill summer program continued throughout the latter part of July, providing students with opportunities to learn and build lasting relationships prior to returning to school in August.
