WAYCROSS — Mr. Alvin Harley Howell, 84, of Waycross passed away at Satilla Hospice Saturday, August 15 following a brief illness.
Howell was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was married to his beloved wife, Phyllis Howell, for 64 years.
H e worked as a truck driver for most of his career and was a longtime member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
Howell was preceded in death by his parents John Melvin and Leona (Griffin) Howell; his siblings, Ed Howell, Beatrice Bowen, and Bobby Howell; and his youngest daughter, Cindy Howell Tatum.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Phyllis Howell; his children, Sherry (Jim) Prough of Brantley County and Kenneth (Catherine) Howell of Jesup; grandchildren,

Howell’s Celebration of Life will be private and will be held for family members.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
