HAZLEHURST — Brantley County Middle School’s 2026 cross-country teams opened by participating in the annual Peach State Preview hosted by Jeff Davis with 11 schools and 257 runners competing in the boys’ and girls’ divisions.
Bleckley County Middle School easily won the meet with 37 points as all five runners finished in the Top 10. Trailing the Lady Royals were West Laurens Middle (92 points), host Jeff Davis Middle (101), Vidalia Middle (114), Tattnall County Middle (152), Coffee Middle (165), Jones County Middle (171), Toombs County Middle (234), Berrien Middle (237), Cook Middle (256) and BCMS (262).
Brantley Middle was led by EmmaLee Herrin’s 11th-place finish with a time of 14:56.40. Vidalia’s Ginny Meredith led the field of 116 runners with a time of 11:57.80.
Trailing Herrin were London Bosquez (64th; 19:06), Maggie Coddington (77th; 19:53.30), Autumn Worley (98th; 22:34.90), Zoey White (99th; 22:35.20), Laney Davis (101st; 22:38.70), Ava Nowak (103rd; 22:51) and Angelina Pittman (104th; 23:02.90).
Host Jeff Davis Middle topped the field with 61 points. The Yellow Jackets were followed by Vidalia Middle (83), Jones County Middle (84), Bleckley County Middle (85), West Laurens Middle (102), Tattnall County Middle (150), Toombs County Middle (192), Berrien Middle (195), BCMS (268), Cook Middle (271) and Coffee Middle (323).
Kane Barnes led Brantley Middle placing 26th in the field of 141 runners with a time of 14:10.80. Bleckley Middle’s Jasper Faulk placed first with a time of 11:05.30.
Finishing behind Barnes were Aiden Gilleon (58th; 15:35.80), Tristan Coger (83rd; 16:54.90), Carter Kelly (98th; 17:37.50), Keegan Lewis (119th; 19:42.50), Nate Kelly (129th; 21:24), Azjah Brock (136th; 22:33.40), Alex Lewis (140th; 27:34.80) and Riggin Goff (141st; 27:42.90).
