WAYCROSS — Gary W. Carr, 75, of Waycross died Monday evening, August 10, 2026, at his residence after an extended illness.
Carr was born in Eastman, Ga., to the late John Albert Carr, Sr. and Dorothy Dykes Carr, and made Waycross his home for most of his life. He was a talented carpenter who worked numerous construction jobs in the United States, and was a self-employed contractor. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and building cars in his spare time.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two siblings, Abbilene Carr and Mildred Hill.
Carr is survived by his wife, Lynne Marsh of Waycross; three children, Scott Carr, wife Carrie, of Eastman, Amy Kerrigan, husband AJ, of San Diego, Calif., Megan Carr, husband Keith, of Blackshear; four grandchildren, Brandon Roland, Abbi Carr, Cambrian Fleck, Michael Sims; four siblings, John Carr, Jr., wife Janice, Gail Ford, husband WC, Yvonne Brown, late husband Mitchell, and David Carr, wife Beth; a special friend, Tommy Veague; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
