Ruskin Elementary’s Patricia Salgado and Micah Harrell recently were recognized as Classified and Certified Golden Achievement Award winners, respectively, during the Ware County Board of Education meeting.
Dr. Erin Harvey, Ruskin principal, nominated both staff members In nominating Salgado, the principal wrote, “Mrs. Salgado embodies the spirit of dedication, teamwork, and service excellence that this award (Classified Golden Achievement) recognizes. Day in and day out, she radiates an authentic positivity that elevates Ruskin’s environment.
“Whether stepping into a new task at a moment's notice or offering a helping hand, her willingness to support her colleagues is boundless. Beyond her remarkable work ethic, Mrs. Salgado provides a reassuring and calming presence that grounds those around her. She has a rare gift for making everyone she encounters feel valued and uplifted, transforming routine daily interactions into opportunities for connection and encouragement.
“Her combination of reliability, warmth, and quiet strength makes her an indispensable asset to Ruskin and a deserving recipient of the Golden Achievement Award.”
In nominating Harrell, Dr. Harvey penned, “Micah has shown tremendous dedication to his profession by consistently implementing creative and engaging lessons that spark curiosity and learning in his classroom. He actively takes the initiative to grow professionally, seeking out advanced development opportunities and inviting community members into the classroom to bring his lessons to life.
“Beyond his instructional excellence, Micah is a vital pillar of our school community. He demonstrates deep commitment to his colleagues by leading weekly devotionals, and he works tirelessly with his students to inspire them to become the best versions of themselves.
“The list of reasons to honor him could go on and on. Micah is truly an inspiration to everyone he encounters, and he exemplifies everything the Golden Achievement Award represents.”
