
Trish NAHUNTA — Sara Marie Hickox, 46 of Nahunta, passed away Friday, August 14, 2026, at her residence after an extended illness.
Mrs. Hickox was born in Nahunta to Eddie Lewis and Diane Lee Lewis. She is preceded in death by her father; a brother, Jesse Lewis; an aunt, Anna Lee; and her mother-in-law, Hickox.
Mrs. Hickox was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. She loved singing gospel songs with her dad, making chicken and dumplings, doing diamond art beading, eating her favorite mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, pudding cups and drinking ice-cold Coca-Cola.
She loved children and served as a paraprofessional with Brantley County Board of Education for almost four years.
Mrs. Hickox is deeply loved and will be missed by all those fortunate enough to know her.
Survivors include her loving husband of 25 years, Troy Hickox; her son, Dalton Hickox; her daughter, Deziree Hickox; daughter-in-law, Haileigh Leinaar; her mother, Diane Lewis; a brother, Wayne Lewis; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Frye Funeral Home.
A funeral service was held Monday, August 17 at Frye Funeral Home. Bro. Bruce Dean officiated.
Burial was at Rob Lewis Cemetery immediately following the service.
Pallbearers include Dalton Hickox, Braydon Hickox, Branson Hickox, Barry Lee, D.J. Lee and Blake Lewis.
Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
