Retired Navy Petty Officer Dwain Pippin led the pledge of allegiance at the August meeting of the county commission. Pippin was involved in surface warfare during his service in the Navy. Pippin (left) is presented a certificate of appreciation by Fourth District Commissioner David Lowman. Pippin was accompanied by his grandson, Walker Moody (center), a second grader at Midway Elementary.
