The Lee Street High School Class of 1966, celebrated their 60th Reunion July 24-26.
Coordinator Sylvia Parker was able to recruit classmates from near and far. “Although the turnout was small in number, the love and fellowship was unmeasurable,” said one attendee.
The class was hosted Friday evening, July 24, with a meet-and-greet, at the home of Anne Jenkins, one of the organizers. An array of food was served.
Classmates enjoyed a delicious dinner at King Claw Bar and Grill in Waycross Saturday, July 25. and door prizes were awarded.
Members of the class reminisced about high school and the impact it had on everyone.
The classmates worshiped together Sunday, July 26, at Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Blackshear. The group was blessed by Minister Alex Jordan, grandson of another organizer, Jerry West.
The gr0up was also blessed to have Reginald Taylor, one of their past teachers, to fellowship with them. Classmates commended him as a great man and educator.
The classmates decided to meet again in 2029.
“We thank God for blessing us,” said a spokesman for the classmates.
