Harrell
Mr. David Alan Harrell, 67, tragically died on July 21, 2026, leaving behind family that loved him deeply.
Harrell was known for his sense of humor and loving nature, alw ays willing to help others, even if it meant giving the shirt off his back. His passions included caring for his cats, camping, sharing beers with his brother, and spending quality time with family.
If you knew Harrell, he was one of a kind. Though we feel sadness, we also celebrate the good life he led. Rest peacefully David. We love you and will miss you.
Harrell was born to the late J.H. Harrell and Mary Helen Steedley Harrell and lived in New Market, Ala., North Florida and South Georgia.
He had nine siblings, three preceded him in death, a brother, Dennis Wayne Sweat; and sisters, Patricia Ann Ratliff and Sandy Lynn Jewell.
Surviving are his sibling’s, four sisters, Rita Touchton of New Market Ala., Donna Graddy of Waynesville, Laura Mixon of Waycross and Kandi Wynn Herbert of Winnie, Texas; two brothers, Bucky (Michelle) Harrell of Waynesville and Lewis (Harriet) Mixon of Waycross; and several nieces and nephews who loved spending time with Uncle David.
A Celebration of Life service will be held, Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home in Homerville.
