Song Sun Kim Ganey, 75, of Blackshear, passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday morning, August 10, 2026 (her birthday), at her residence.
Born in Kyongpuk-do, South Korea August 10, 1951, she lived in Oak Park, prior to moving to Pierce County in 1991. She and her husband, John Riley Ganey Jr., met while he was stationed in South Korea while serving in the U.S. Army. They were married April 11, 1974, and were blessed to have spent 45 years together prior to his passing. They owned and operated Sunshine Carpet Cleaning Service which their two daughters, Kim and Lora, now operate. She spent the last few years being a homemaker and enjoying gardening, cooking and decorating.
She was a daughter of the late Yu Sok and Mu Yol Son Kim. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by several of her brothers and sisters in South Korea.
Survivors include her two daughters, Kim Ganey and Lora Ganey, both of Blackshear and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
