Jonah Angel Hernandez, 21, of Mershon, passed away Friday afternoon, August 7, 2026, at his residence.
Born in Waycross September 23, 2004, he lived in Pierce County all of his life. He was a member of the 2023 graduating class of Pierce County High School. He was employed in the agricultural business by Wrigley Fields. In his spare time, he loved to play volleyball and soccer, as well as golf with his friends.  He will be remembered as having the sweetest soul by his family and friends, who will miss him immensely.
He was a son of the late April Watkins Hernandez of Mershon. He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jerry and Linda Watkins of Mershon.
Survivors include his father, Jose Angel Hernandez, Mershon; his long-time girlfriend, Victoria Castillo, Mershon; his sisters, Elyssa (Jacob) Woodard, Waycross and Emily Hernandez (Jorge Perez), Blackshear; a brother, Tyler Watkins, Mershon; paternal grandparents, Domingo Hernandez and Socorro Sanchez, both of Mexico; nieces and nephews, Ella Woodard, Sophie Woodard, Elijah Watkins, AnnaJade Watkins, Brayden Sweat and Bailey Bryant; his “feline children”, Olaf, Juan, and Ralph; and several aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, August 11, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 11, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be in the Bristol Cemetery.
