Stone
WAYCROSS — Mr. Daniel F. “Danny” Stone, 64, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2026, at his residence in Waycross.
He was born in Ware County to Billy Stone and Delphine Dubberly Stone. He devoted much of his career to serving others as a param edic with Brantley Emergency Medical Services and was most recently employed by MedTrust.
A faithful member of Remnant Church, Stone loved the Lord and enjoyed participating in mission trips, where he shared his faith and compassion with others. He never met a stranger and left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. In his spare time, he enjoyed kayaking, fishing, and spending time in the Okefenokee Swamp, a place he dearly loved.
Stone was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Stone of Waycross; five children, Jessica Clark of Pierce County, Joshua Stone (Amber) of Pierce County, Jonathan McQuaig (Mary) of Fairbanks, Alaska, Amber Chapman of Waycross, and Brian Chapman (Brianna) of Waycross; 14 grandchildren, Haley Clark, Aubrey Clark, Lukas Corbitt, Amelia Stone, Cecilia Stone, Tanner McQuaig, Carson McQuaig, Tate McQuaig, Paisley McQuaig, Connor Chapman, Tyler Bird, Kohen Cox, Landree Chapman, and Charlee Chapman; his mother, Delphine Dubberly Stone; three sisters, Debra Stewart (Jim) of Richmond Hill, Donna Rowell (Rev. Tim) of Brantley County, and Pamela Ketchie (Shannon) of North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Thursday, July 30, at Remnant Church. Burial followed in High Bluff Cemetery.
Former co-workers with the emergency medical service served as honorary pallbearers.
